Meet Arthur Finch, Our Founder

Arthur Finch started Cornerstone Startup Advisors because he saw a real need. Many good ideas here in the UK don't get off the ground, not because they're bad, but because they lack clear direction and straightforward support. He wanted to offer honest, practical help. He's not here to use fancy words or complicated theories; just straight talk that makes a real difference for founders.

Before starting Cornerstone, Arthur spent years working with promising tech companies right here in the Thames Valley. He saw firsthand what works and what doesn't when you're trying to build something new from scratch. He learned a lot about securing early-stage investment and, even more importantly, figuring out what customers actually want. He knows the ups and downs of it all, having been there himself.

His main goal is to simplify things. Startups can be messy, and often, founders get lost in the noise. Arthur helps cut through that. He believes in focusing on core problems and finding direct, workable solutions. You won't get lengthy reports you'll never read, just actionable steps you can use right away. He's a firm believer that good ideas need clear execution to really take off.

At Cornerstone, Arthur mainly focuses on two big things:

• Getting Your Product or Service Right: We call this 'product-market fit.' It's about making sure what you're selling is what people actually want to buy and will pay for.
• Getting Ready for Investors: This involves shaping your message, understanding what investors look for, and building a solid plan to show them you mean business.

He's good at spotting the weak points in a plan and helping you fix them before they become big, expensive problems. He's here to guide you through the maze of early-stage funding and growth in the UK market.

Living and working in Reading, Arthur has a good feel for the UK startup scene, especially outside of London. He understands the local challenges and opportunities, and he's built his own network of local angel investors and small fund managers. When he's not helping startups, you might find him cheering on London Irish Rugby or grabbing a pint at a local pub, just like any other bloke. He's all about building strong connections, locally and within the wider UK business community.
